NFL Pool 2005 was released in the summer of that year to rave reviews and wide acceptance. It introduced features that were not available at the time in similar applications. It’s simple single window interface was a welcome departure from the multi-window, multi-tabbed option selecting pool administration applications prevalent at that time. It caused quite a stir and received multiple 5-Star awards from various shareware web sites.
Fast-forward to 2006 where that season’s version introduced more new features including HTML email forms and automatic game score retreival via downloading directly into the application. It continued to be a great success during the latter half of 2006 and continued to rack up the shareware awards. Our developers were quick to respond to user concerns and bug fixes and gained quite a reputation for customer service. NFL Pool 2006 was a big hit. We had as much fun as our users.
Due to personal reasons there unfortunately was no release of the 2007 version last season much to the dismay of our many fans who wanted (and had beta-tested) the .Net 2007 version that had been planned to be released. We regretted not being able to release it and took steps to make sure that the 2008 season would signal the triumpant return of the NFL Pool application to the fray.
We’re happy to say ... it’s back for 2008!
NFL Pool 2008 builds on the successes of the previous versions with a similar interface (we tweaked it a bit) and no reliance on the MS Office suite. We’ve built the program up completely from scratch to make it faster and more efficient, using aboslutely no previous source code. NFL Pool 2008 is brand new from the ground up. Report printing is better. Tracking payments is easier and more logical (and less obvious to office managers). Now you can create and import your own custom graphic into the application for printing headers on reports, and there are two seperate Internet browser views for viewing relevant information from multiple sports wesites. An improved scores downloading function has also been added.
We’ve lowered the price considerably from $39.95 to $21.95 as a gesture of good will to the shareware industry, and only $11.95 for owners of any previous version. At those prices NFL Pool 2008 is a fantasic value considering the difficulty of manually administering a large football pool.
